Did You See the Oscars? A Comment
Did you see the Oscars? I almost wept when I watch them. Perhaps the best description that can be found concerning them is Romans 1:18-32. Read it and see if you can see what I mean. There may be a few exceptions among the participants, but I could not spot them.
What can we Christian believers do?
Pray, of course, but what would be the most effective prayer that can be prayed?
Go to Acts 7:60, and pray Stephen's prayer when they were stoning him to death. Thankfully, we don't have to be being stoned to pray it. But pray it anyway. Pray, "Father, forgive them!"
Don't you know how God answered that prayer of Stephen's? One of the men standing in the crowd, who held the coats of the men stoning him, was Saul. This man later became the man we know as Paul, the greatest proclaimer of the Gospel in his day.
Look at what God did with him. I believe it was in answer to Stephen's prayer. He literally transformed him. That's the power of a praying man in partnership with God. God longs to answer His partners' prayers. So, pray for those men and women who did their own kind of preaching that night. Pray that God will not hold their sins against them, but will forgive them, and bring them to salvation, just as He did Saul.
You can start it off something like this: "God, do it again!"
