Anxious? Get Ready!

Author: Richard Graham

Evidence is rising that anxiety and depression are increasing (eg. more confs. in my SBC group to deal with it). What I suspect is that, as strange as it may seem, the enemy is scared of us believers today. Surprised? Look at how he attacked almost everyone in the Bible whom God was using or was about to use. Egs. Abraham, Jacob, David, Ruth, David, the prophets, the early church, saints down through the years, of course Jesus Himself, and many others. In fact, I am hard pressed to think of anyone (!) in history who was not attacked when God was using them or about to use them! See if you can change my mind.

What does that say about believers today?

Get ready. We are either being used or about to be used by our loving and empowering Father in our daily lives right now.

When and where? Right now and everywhere.

So get ready, physically, mentally, emotionally, financially, in our families, in our churches, in our places, in our nation, and in our world. Most of all, get ready spiritually.

The enemy is scared of us, because our Lord Jesus is getting ready to use us in spiritual battle. Even if you are not mid-trib, as I am, pre-trib does not mean that there won’t be hard times before the rapture and the tribulation.

How? Pray. Learn how to continuously pray. Study the Scriptures and absorb them in your thinking. As I say in my book The Yoke Partnership, Jesus invites every person, and especially every Christian, to take on His yoke, and learn to pull with Him, the strongest Person in the Kingdom. So learn how to take His yoke on you, and pull with Him, never against Him. Share the Gospel with every one you come into contact, and learn how to train other believers to share the gospel as well. It’s not that hard.

Be encouraged. You and I may be privileged to be used by Jesus as almost no other followers have been used by Him. Don’t be afraid. When any believer has been called to be used by Jesus, He always equips and fills them with His Holy Spirit. He already filled us when we were forgiven and saved. So pray that He will fill you with His Spirit as He did the first church. They needed Him and we need Him today.

Don’t be discouraged or anxious. Jesus is enough for us and our fellow yoke men and yoke women in the Kingdom. He will be near to any Christian who calls on Him. Call, pray, and take up His yoke for the work ahead. God bless. —Richard Graham
